DIM Filter
An independent initiative by Misterio Studio aligned with the theme proposed by ICOM for the International Museum Day 2021: “The Future of Museums: Recover and Reimagine.”
With this premise, we proposed to three museums the creation of a collective Instagram and Facebook filter featuring some of their artworks. The participating museums were MEV, Víctor Balaguer Library-Museum and Ralli Museum Marbella.
International Museum Day 2021 invites museums, their professionals and communities to create, imagine and share new practices of co-creating value, new business models and innovative solutions for the social, economic and environmental challenges of the present.
The objectives set for our action included promoting culture through digital media, gamification in the realm of traditional artworks, revitalising interest and encouraging in-person visits to museums, showcasing lesser-known artworks to the general public and facilitating collaboration between museums and other cultural entities.
We handled the ideation, design and programming of a collaborative Instagram and Facebook filter. Users can transform themselves into artworks using a common tool like their social media, sharing it on their profiles and involving their contacts.
The chosen museums for collaboration were three diverse entities to encourage the fulfilment of the set objectives. We organised a joint launch to achieve greater impact. The viewing figures in the first week were 2k impressions, 306 opens and 196 captures recorded.
