Democratic Memory

Recovering the memory of the last century

L'Hospitalet de Llobregat experienced the Civil War, Franco's dictatorship, and the democratic transition in a unique way. This new space, integrated into the permanent exhibition of the Museu de L'Hospitalet, preserves that memory and pays tribute to both the victims and those who fought for freedom during the 20th century.

The design transforms the room into a visual narrative through full-panel displays combining laser pyrography and direct printing on wood. A sober and expressive proposal that avoids typical clichés and maintains visual and material coherence with the rest of the permanent exhibition.

The museography is completed with a historical timeline, display cases with original objects, and a scenography that incorporates authentic remains of the church of Santa Eulàlia de Mèrida, destroyed during the Civil War.
